HYDERABAD: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been featured among top global universities of India by the US News and World Report in their 2017 edition. Among full-fledged universities, University of Hyderabad was ranked sixth. It is also the only institution from South India as well as from Hyderabad, Telangana to be recognised among the best.
UoH was ranked 14 among the Best Global Universities in India. However, in the first 14 ranks there are 8 research institutions and hence among the funded Universities the rank of UoH was sixth. US-News ranked Panjab University followed by Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore) as the best two institutions in India.
The report stated that students who wish to study in India can explore these universities which have been numerically ranked based on their positions in the overall Best Global Universities rankings. The rankings take into account schools’ research performance, as well as their ratings by members of the academic community around the world and in Asia, it said. The overall Best Global Universities rankings encompass the top 1,262 institutions spread across 65 countries.
